Global Day of Design – Friday, May 4th

Valentine’s for Vets

The makery club members used their Giving Hour time to make beautiful Valentine’s. The Valentine’s were sent to the county office, where they will be delivered to local veteran facilities. We had a goal of 60 Valentine’s. With their hard work, we were able to send out 65 Valentine’s.

On Friday, October 6th during lunch, the MUR will be transformed into a cardboard arcade. Students, staff and parents are invited to come and play. Earn tickets and turn them in at the prize booth. Come shoot hoops, try your luck with a claw machine, be a pinball wizard, do some target shooting, and more.

Creating Agamographs at Makery Club

Club members learned how to make an agamograph. These are 3D art projects named after Yaakov Agam. Students drew two separate pictures and then cut them into strips. Next, the strips were glued onto a template, alternating the strips from each picture. Last step was to fold the template like an accordion. When you look…

4th & 8th Grade Buddy Activity

Buddies worked together to create a thaumatrope.  A thaumatrope is a an optical toy. When the straw is twirled quickly between the fingers the two pictures appear to blend into one due to the persistence of vision.
